You know what show totally tanked on Broadway, even though it won the Tony for best score? AIDA
You know what should really still be touring and/or on Broadway? AIDAAAAAA
I've been listening to so much Aida so much. It's especially sad that my iPod broke because I'm in my iPod-using phase right now, and, unless I want to carry my laptop around with me, I can't listen to music on the go.
I ordered a new one from Amazon two days ago, but it says it won't even ship until Oct 6. Gahhhh

I saw Aida on Broadway December 30, 2001. Adam Pascal was great, but we got the understudy for Amneris who was very...Bette Midler-esque. The visuals were stunning and amazingly well choreographed. I'm not crazy about the story though. Having Aida suddenly fall in love with the guy who just conquered her entire nation and imprisoned her is a little hard to swallow. It could've been written better.
The music, OTOH, is really addictive. I love "Elaborate Lives" and "Not Me."
