Yesterday

When I was leaving Voice and Speech yesterday, we were all gathering our stuff from the closet, and I saw a MetroCard in the mesh pocket of someone's backpack. I got such a shot in the heart. I can't even explain it. It was just this feeling that hit me square in the chest. And I said, "Whose MetroCard is that?" One of my friends claimed it and asked why. And the first thing that came out of my mouth was that "It made me homesick".
I'm not even from New York! I miss it so much, though.
